Bobby and I got back a little while ago from our anniversary weekend in Dillsboro, NC. We had a fabulous, much-needed mini-break… took Bobby’s little red convertible and let our hair blow wild and crazy all the way up. I do so love him… am very glad that he’s stuck in there for these past five years, cuz’ I’m pretty dang sure it hasn’t been easy!!

Fun candids when I got bored in the car… I’m not a very good road-tripper

We stayed at the Squire Watkins Inn – it was absolutely, postively perfect. A little couple named Emma and Tom have converted a gigantic 1800’s Victorian house into a bed and breakfast. There were no tv’s, phones, clocks, or reminders of the “real world” at all… And the antiques, decorating, paint, details, fresh flowers… it was truly better than we imagined! I took tons of pictures… just couldn’t help myself :)

We stayed in the “Rose Room” (left); and Innkeeper Emma took a picture of us on the front porch as we checked out (right).

For dinner Saturday night, we went on a train ride through the mtns of NC on the Great Smoky Mtn Railroad… I’ve wanted to do this dinner train for years, and we finally did it… can’t wait for the Ocktoberfest Beer Train in October!! :)

My dashing husband of five years looking very debonair as we await our train (left); and the picture-perfect engineer telling us “All Aboard!” (right)

Bobby got a hand from Cookie Monster, the newest addition to Maggie’s collection (left), and beautimous wildflowers on the side of the road (right).

The crazy-curvy road was no match for Bobby the race-car driver (left), and adding more oil to his little race-car (ah, the joy of “vintage” cars! :) (right).
